The Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation participated in IFA 2024 from September 6 to September 11, operating a joint pavilion called the "K-Innovation Launch Lab" in collaboration with KIC Europe, KAIST GCC, and the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI).
IFA, along with CES (Consumer Electronics Show, USA) and MWC (Mobile World Congress, Spain), is considered one of the world's top three consumer electronics exhibitions. This year, marking its 100th anniversary, it attracted a large number of advanced technology companies from around the world.
Ten companies participated in the joint "K-Innovation Launch Lab" pavilion, including Chungnam Center’s incubated companies MetroAir, Turbine Crew, AB, and The Baton. Notably, Turbine Crew, which manufactures smart poles utilizing renewable energy, signed two MOUs with global companies, expanding its potential for global market entry. In addition, MetroAir, which produces multi-purpose drones, AB, a manufacturer of eco-friendly collapsible straws, and The Baton, a provider of digital music platforms, received significant attention and positive feedback from IFA visitors.
In addition to operating the booth, presentations were held to introduce startup collaboration programs and investment strategies by organizations such as EIT Digital, Deutsche Bahn, and Paris' Creative Valley to support the global expansion of participating companies. The program also featured pitching sessions from nine promising Korean and German startups, as well as networking meetups, providing opportunities for domestic innovative companies to explore global expansion.
Furthermore, the "K-Innovation Store 2024" was operated at Bikini Berlin Mall, with four companies, including CS Company, participating to assess local market reactions and promote their products. Notably, CS Company, one of Chungnam Center's outstanding incubated companies, exhibited nine products, including a pear scrub cleansing product containing pear stone cells, laying the foundation for entry into the German and European markets.
Kang Hee-jun, head of the Chungnam Center, stated, "There is a growing demand from startups hoping to enter global markets," adding, "This participation in the 2024 IFA exhibition booth and pop-up store will serve as an important stepping stone for companies to expand internationally." He also emphasized that "various support programs for global expansion will continue to be actively pursued in the future."
