KIC Europe announced that, to mark its 10th anniversary, it has launched various 'K-Innovation Series Programs' in conjunction with 'IFA 2024,' from September 6 to September 11. KIC Europe, an affiliate of the Ministry of Science and ICT, was established in Brussels, Belgium, in 2014 to support the expansion of Korean deep-tech startups into the European market. In 2017, it relocated to Berlin, Germany, where it currently operates.

The 'K-Innovation Series Program' was designed with the goals of attracting global investments for Korean startups, pioneering the European market, connecting collaboration partners, and launching the Korean Startup Association.

On September 9, KIC Europe co-hosted an Innovation Forum with the AsiaBerlin Forum to commemorate its 10th anniversary. Distinguished guests included Professor Moonki Choi of KAIST (former Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning), Professor Muecke of the Smart Factory Association, the CEO of EIT Digital, the Head of Choose Paris Region, representatives from the Cambridge Judge Business School, and the Danish Technology Institute. During the forum, participants discussed strengthening partnerships with key institutions driving startup ecosystems across Germany and Europe, as well as exploring future collaboration strategies. The newly established Korean Startup Association, 'KIC Club,' is expected to become a vital platform representing the voice of Korean startups. The event also featured presentations from prominent organizations such as EIT Digital, Deutsche Bahn, and Paris’ Creative Valley on their startup collaboration programs and investment strategies, as well as a pitching session by nine promising Korean and German startups.

KIC Europe, in collaboration with the Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, KAIST GCC, and KETI, participated in 'IFA 2024' by operating a joint exhibition booth called 'K-Innovation Launch Lab,' showcasing Korean startups. This booth featured 10 startups specializing in AI, robotics, mobility, digital, and eco-friendly technologies, holding various meetings and business discussions aimed at attracting investments and entering the European market. Notably, ArgosVision was visited by the Bosch Group and became a finalist in the IFA Pitch Battle. Main Information System, which provides a real-time 3D mapping system, engaged in discussions about joining Saudi Arabia’s NEOM City project and establishing a proof of concept (PoC) with Germany’s Würth Group. Turbine Crew, a producer of eco-friendly smart poles, signed two MOUs, while MetroAir, a drone manufacturer, AB Life, a producer of eco-friendly collapsible straws, and The Baton, a digital music platform provider, received significant attention and positive feedback from European visitors at IFA.

In addition, on September 7, the 'K-Innovation Academy' was held to strengthen the capabilities of Korean startups aiming to enter the European market. Lecturers included Se-Ri Ahn, who has experience running businesses in Germany and London, and Soo-Min Jung, who shared their strategies and experiences on European expansion and investment attraction, as well as discussions on organic collaboration among startups.

Finally, at Bikini Mall in Berlin, the 'K-Innovation Store' was launched as a pop-up store. This store was set up to survey European consumer demand and purchasing intentions, featuring four companies: Avocado (beauty), CS Company (beauty), EVA (portable electric vehicle chargers), and EasyCookAsia (Asian meal kits), under the theme of Smart Living. Particularly, K-beauty products drew considerable interest from European consumers.
